PROGRAMMES.

Some of our current priority programmes are…

'streetlife' our inspirational weapons and gangs project; Streetlife will work with groups of young people involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, weapons related and gang activity; their families and wider communities. It utilises Hip Hop heritage and Culture to educate and inform around this important area. The programme has partners in Mothers Against Violence, Education Leeds and the Royal Armouries Museum, and is re-created in collaboration with agencies, schools and community organisations and this project hopes to be a ‘pilot’ to be further developed as an on-going regular programme.

'Hip HopES' our unique learning re-engagement and citizenship programme; By using the core elements and teachings of Hip Hop culture to re-engage the most disaffected young people within our communities, we hope to empower our clients and further help them to transform their educational experiences into positive lessons for their own futures. Invizible Circle Education will deliver a twelve week programme of issue based groupwork using the expertise and complementary skills and approaches of 4-6 of our artists and educators, and utilising 5-7 artforms. Some key outcome areas are improved self awareness and confidence, improved attitudes and behaviours, artform skills development, improved membership of own communities and overall personal and social development.

'ICF' our new Leeds based global football development programme; It aims to facilitate and develop cross cultural experiences, connections and understanding through a holistic football led approach underpinned by informal education approaches and techniques. ICF is an academy of football including elements of health, fitness, diet, exercise, strengths and weaknesses assessment, mind training, tactics, teamplay, gameplay, international exchanges and visits. In addition the academy will have personal and social development, overall career and life development, citizenship, community development, cultural exchange and awareness as inherent throughout the programme.

‘Invizible Voices’ our cross artform global youth and community project; This international programme aims to provide supported arenas for cross cultural awareness, understanding and co-operation, and utilise the global youth culture of Hip Hop and its many artforms. Our plans are to create a collection of issue based film documentaries with musical interludes to be shown initially via the world wide web. The films will be made by young people from all of our partner countries whilst on exchange visits and also via web based networks and technologies. The long term aspiration is the creation of positive global communities in line with our vision, and genuinely contributing to peace, equality and justice worldwide.

Invizible Circle Education also provides a range of element/artform specific programmes, projects and workshops including DJing, MCing/Rapping, Spoken Word, Beatboxing, Graffiti, Breakdancing, Rhyme/ verse writing, Film/video, Digital music production, Studio production and mastering. Following on from each of our programmes, we continue to provide mentoring, community development and volunteering support, and general and partnership support around employment, education and training needs and opportunities.
